DisplayLink Homepage Refresh
DisplayLink's homepage sees approximately 80k page views every month. Most users pass through the homepage on their way to download drivers for DisplayLink chipsets that power multi-display setups in homes and offices around the world.
This project saw me redesign, and rebuild, the DisplayLink homepage. A key part of the redesign was to declutter the homepage, make content more visible and easier to reach, and to make site navigation easier.
This was partly achieved by focusing on making the user journey more efficient. As the majority of visitors to DisplayLink's website are there to download drivers, we made the decision to make links to the respective driver download pages a prominent part of the new homepage.
Another key change was to make the navigation menu more visible, and easier to use. The old design featured a multi-level, drill-down menu that was hidden even on desktop displays. I changed this in the new design to make navigation links to key areas of the website visible to visitors on desktops.
Behind the scenes I also made several improvements to the performance of the website, resulting in a 73% smaller total page size, and a 60% improvement in page load time.
Fershad Digital has transformed the journey and engagement of visitors on our website. The new homepage design delivers significant improvements in key web performance measurements as well as introducing a more attractive and intuitive interface that helps people navigate the site better.

Unfortunately, shortly after this project was completed DisplayLink was acquired and future upgrades planned for the website had to be shelved.
